Privacy Policy
We believe you should understand what happens with your data. Here's our privacy policy in plain language.

What We Collect
Account Information
When you sign up with Google, we receive your email address (required) and name (optional). We use this to create and identify your account.
Content You Save
When you save content to Stow, we store:
- The URL you saved
- Title and description (automatically extracted)
- Thumbnail image URL (if available)
- Platform (YouTube, Spotify, etc.)
- Consumption state (To Consume, Consuming, Consumed)
- Tags you create and apply
- Timestamps (when you saved or updated items)
Usage Analytics
We use PostHog to track screens visited, features used, content actions, and app lifecycle events. Analytics are linked to your account ID but we don't sell this data or use it for advertising.
Crash Reports
Firebase Crashlytics collects error details, stack traces, device type, OS version, and user ID to help us diagnose and fix bugs.
How We Use Your Data
We use your data to:
- Provide the Stow service (saving and organizing your content)
- Extract metadata from URLs you save
- Improve the app based on usage patterns
- Fix bugs and crashes
- Send important service announcements (rarely)
We do NOT:
- Sell your data to anyone
- Use your data for advertising
- Share your saved content with other users

When you save a URL, we may fetch metadata from YouTube, Spotify, Reddit, Twitter APIs, or the target website itself.
Data Storage & Security
- Your data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL database)
- Data is encrypted at rest and in transit
- Row-level security ensures you can only access your own data
- We don't store your Google password
Your Rights
Access & Export
You can view all your saved content in the app. Contact us if you need a data export.
Deletion
You can:
- Delete individual stows and tags from the app
- Request full account deletion by contacting us
When you delete your account, we remove your profile, all stows, tags, and linked analytics data.
Data Retention
- Active accounts: We keep your data as long as your account exists
- Deleted content: Removed from our database immediately
- Deleted accounts: All data removed within 30 days
- Analytics: Retained for up to 2 years, then anonymized or deleted
Children's Privacy
Stow is not intended for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. We'll notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use after changes means you accept the new policy.
